Spiritual Spaces
With over 145 acres, St. Columba can provide plenty of room to stretch your legs, both physically and spiritually. Guests can enjoy a peaceful stroll through the woods on one of several walking trails.
The new St. Francis Outdoor Chapel, facing the lake, affords an ideal opportunity for worship or quiet reflection amid the splendor of God’s creation.
An outdoor "Stations of the Cross" offers guests the chance to meditate on the last 24 hours of the life of Jesus Christ. The cycle of 14 meditations may be experienced alone or as part of group worship.
Space is also available for individual Silent Retreats in one of two fully self-contained Hermitages. Hermitage rates are by donation, availability is sporadic. Call for more information or to make a reservation.
The five acre lake is a nice place to relax. Guests can arrange to canoe or take the paddle boat out. The lake is also well stocked with local game fish, such as Bream and Bass. Especially stouthearted guests may want to Be Like Bear the dog, and arrange to take a cool dip.
